Thanksgiving

Tonight, we shall be looking at a very familiar topic; THANKSGIVING.

Let us pray.

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege to receive from Your Word of life. We ask that You grant us life from Your Word tonight. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

******************

I am sure that everyone here knows that to be thankful is to show gratitude for something that someone has done for you.

And it should be so at all times

But you see, in God’s kingdom, thanksgiving is so much more.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!

[PSALM 100:4 AMP]

It is important to know that as a child of God, one of the prerequisites for entering into God’s presence is coming with a heart of thanksgiving.

Presenting unto Him a thanks offering.

Now, I want you to ponder over that, THANKS OFFERING.

Blessing God with a thanks offering is deeper than giving thanks only when He does something for us that is physical and tangible.

How about when things are not going quite as planned, how then do you approach God or offer a thanks offering?

You see, the answer is simple😁. Please pay close attention.

The more you know God, especially through His Word and the more you see who you are in Him, the more thanksgiving becomes a lifestyle.

You see, God has given us all we need in this life o! Nothing missing and Nothing broken.

He knows that He has given you all you need, but the problem is that you do not know and the enemy draws power from your ignorance and robs you of a life of thanksgiving.

So, you are waiting until you see something tangible before you give thanks, meanwhile in this kingdom we give thanks before we see the physical manifestation because as men and women of the Spirit we know that we do not look to the seen realm, but the unseen (spiritual) realm which is where we shape our realities in line with what God has spoken over us.

So, when we give thanks in the midst of adversity and what looks like defeat, we are not stupid, instead, we are engaging a strategic principle based on the understanding of scripture.

5 As Jesus sat down, he looked out and saw the massive crowd of people scrambling up the hill, for they wanted to be near him. So he turned to Philip and said, “Where will we buy enough food to feed all these people?” 6 Now Jesus already knew what he was about to do, but he said this to stretch Philip’s faith.

7 Philip answered, “Well, I suppose if we were to give everyone only a snack, it would cost thousands of dollars to buy enough food!”

8 But just then, Andrew, Peter’s brother, spoke up and said, 9 “Look! Here’s a young person with five barley loaves and two small fish . . . but how far would that go with this huge crowd?”

10 “Have everyone sit down,” Jesús said to his disciples. So, on the vast grassy slope, more than five thousand hungry people sat down. 11 Jesus then took the barley loaves and the fish and gave thanks to God. He then gave it to the disciples to distribute to the people. Miraculously, the food multiplied, with everyone eating as much as they wanted!

12 When everyone was satisfied, Jesus told his disciples, “Now go back and gather up the pieces left over so that nothing will be wasted.” 13 The disciples filled up twelve baskets of fragments, a basket of leftovers for each disciple.

[John 6:5-13 TPT]

You see this looked like an impossible situation. To feed thousands of people without any budget or enough cash, only five loaves of bread and two fish.

But what did Jesus do, He revealed a mystery!

One would think He would pray and say Father please multiply this bread and fish. But instead, He lifted it up and gave thanks and that was it.

You see, most people would wait for the multiplication to happen before giving thanks, but Jesus showed us the principle for thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving will always bring multiplication and manifestation for that which you believe. But it rides on the strength of your faith in God, because if you are waiting to see the miracle first before giving thanks to God then You are robbing Him of what is due.

18 And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.

[1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT]

In the midst of everything means in every season, seemingly good or bad, give thanks to God.

The major secret lies in you knowing that He is a good Father.

Thanksgiving should be a lifestyle, keep offering God this offering of thanksgiving. Men of Faith are men who offer unending thanks to God because, in the end, they know that “all things worketh together for the good of them that love the Lord…”

Don’t stop blessing Him with the fruit of your lips and the offering of thanks.

We just rounded up our prayer fast, your unending posture should be that of thanksgiving. No matter how many people testify before you, no matter how long it takes for though it may tarry, it shall surely come to pass as the Lord lives.

Lastly, a word of advice and gentle warning; don’t ever allow material things to be the deciding factor for thanksgiving to God. When you live like that, you will never be able to judge God faithful. Thank God even when there seems to be nothing to thank Him for and watch Him turn your life into a sign and a wonder.

Shalom!

Nothing missing!!

Nothing Broken!!!

Yes, and Amen.
