Waiting on the Lord

Ministering: Samuel Asieba

Topic: Waiting on the Lord

Good day dear Family of God. It is time for our fellowship with the word of God.

Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for another privilege to gather and receive Your words of life. Tonight, Lord, I ask for power in the simplicity of Your word. Let Light from Heaven flood our hearts in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Yes, and Amen.

So, tonight we are considering the topic; WAITING ON THE LORD.

I’d like to think of tonight’s teaching as a continuation of last week’s teaching.

So, our anchor scripture will be Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

[Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV]

To wait on the Lord suggest that as mortal men, we are insufficient in and of ourselves.

Without the breath of God in us, we are but dust and clay.

While contemplating in the spirit over tonight’s teaching in the place of prayer, the Spirit of God laid it in my heart that, it is only proud men that do not wait on God.

So, until you genuinely recognize how limited you are as a mortal man, you will never learn or even care to learn the art of waiting on the Lord.

You see from verse 28 of Isaiah 40, scripture gives us insight about the one who we wait upon.

You must know who you are waiting on if not you will only be a double-minded believer and scripture states clearly in the book of James that such a believer cannot receive anything from the Lord.

Scripture explains that even the strongest in the ranking of men, that is the YOUTH AND YOUNG MEN will faint, get weary and utterly fall.

So that immediately suggests that relying on your own strength will take you nowhere.

But you see scripture states a list of things that God gives to those who wait on Him:

  1. He gives power to the faint
  2. He gives strength to then that have no might.

When you then go further, you will see the end result of waiting on him and that is that your strength is renewed like that of the Eagles.

Every believer needs their strength renewed continually, why?

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

[Proverbs 24:10 KJV]

There is always a day of adversity so long as you are in this world. The enemy will always try to come against you and if your strength is small then scripture states that you will faint.

The scripture also says that you will RUN AND NOT BE WEARY.

We are all running a race that has been set before us according to the writer of Hebrews 12:2 and you will require the strength of God to run and not be weary.

You will walk and not faint.

You see as I mentioned last week, there is always the temptation to rush into things with your senses, but what you fail to understand is that the sense realm is very LIMITED.

Just ask LOT the Nephew of Abraham. If he had known that where he chose to settle would later be destroyed by God, my best bet would be that he would have found a way to coexist with his Uncle.

But you see the sense realm sees only the present.

One of the things that happen when you wait on God and move by His leading is that He gives you eyes that see.

When you wait on God effectively, yet another resultant effect is that God invades the darkness in your life with His marvelous light.

You suddenly know what to do. No confusion whatsoever. This is why Jesus said that, when you walk with Him, you will not stumble in the dark.

But we have unfortunately grown accustomed to rushing off and doing things our own way.

When you live like this, Paul the Apostle will call you a SHADOW BOXER. You never really touch reality in God.

It is time to change our mindset (RENEWED MINDSET) with His word and learn the ways of the Fathers before us.

Waiting on God was why King David never lost a battle.

When you master this art of waiting on God, you will soar in the skies like an eagle far above the others still operating in the sense realm.

Remember that Isaiah 40:31 starts by saying “But THEY that wait on the Lord…”

Meaning not everyone will operate in this reality. But we are of God and we operate here in Jesus’ name.

Yes and Amen.

I will be starting the live call now, please do well to join in.
