Topic: Keeping the Love for God Burning

Calvary greetings to everyone this evening, how are we all doing? 😃

Hope we had a great day.

You know, in our daily lives we have things that are literally fighting to get our attention. Family, husband, wife, friends, work, personal development, etc. It can sometimes be overwhelming.

Sometimes, we find ourselves giving more attention to the things that actually need less attention or don’t even need attention at all.

In fact, at the very core, we see that our personal relationship with God suffers the most, but we love God. Yet! We can’t seem to give Him the attention He deserves.

And if our personal relationship with God suffers, every other thing will definitely suffer.

So tonight, I’ll be teaching by the anointing of the Holy Spirit how you can perpetually love up on God.

How you can keep the love of God always burning fresh in your heart and consciousness.

Father in the name of Jesus, I ask that You teach us how to love You more and more. I ask that by Your Spirit, love for You and all men burns fervently in our hearts.

Amen.

Before we delve in, find our previous teaching here if you missed it.

Let’s look at one of our foundation Bible texts:

Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But after that no one dared question Him.

[Mark 12:28 – 34 NKJV]

A Scribe is basically someone who has been assigned to write down whatever is being spoken or has been spoken.

So, in the Scriptures, you’ll see them appear a lot because they were important in writing down instructions, historical information, and the like.

An interesting fact is our brains seem to remember faster whatever we write down. So, in this case, this particular Scribe remembered something that was written previously in some scrolls or manuscripts.

The emphasis in this scripture is loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

In the other words, God is saying, even though I love you with an everlasting love yet YOU have a choice to love Me back.

And He’s also saying if you’re going to love Me, You’ve got to love Me completely. No hide and seek, no lukewarmness, no indecisiveness, and the like.

God is saying, You’ve got to love Me completely.

So how do we go about that? What does God mean by ALL my heart, soul, mind, and strength?

How do we even give God our all? Is it actually possible?

I’m here to tell you that Yes! It is possible by His Holy Spirit.

On the voice call, we will learn what God wants to know and understand, and please get your bible(s) with you because we’ll open and read together.

See you on the call.
