Knowing who You are in Christ

By Brother Sammy

12th September 2022

Good Evening dearly beloved people of God.

It is time to receive from God’s Word.

Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for yet another privilege to receive from Your Word. We ask for light from the Word, to transform us in Jesus’ mighty name, Yes and Amen.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So tonight, we’ll be looking at Knowing who you are in Christ.

This topic would be considered simple and basic by some, but I have come to an understanding recently that nothing in this kingdom of light is ‘ordinary’ or should be treated as common.

You see, knowing means to have or acquire knowledge.

And the scriptures make us understand in Colossians 1:13;

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love

[Colossians 1:13]

For every member of this fellowship, you have been conveyed into the Kingdom of the Son of His love, Jesus the Christ of God.

Now, what is left for us to do is to EXPLORE.

Explore what brother Sammy?

Explore who you are in this Kingdom of the Son of God; explore who you are in Him and let me show you why I say this.

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

[Ephesians 2:10 NLT]

The scripture said that ‘we are God’s masterpiece.

Now, notice that the scripture further said, ‘He has created us anew in Christ’.

So, by all means, explore and let me tell you why this instruction to explore is not optional.

Firstly, the Bible has it recorded in the book of Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

[Hosea 4:6 KJV]

Now, that looks like just another Old Testament stuff that does not apply to us, but know this, we learn from the Old Testament and live by the New Testament (Covenant).

But, one thing still applies and that’s the truth that your lack of knowledge will always put you at a disadvantage every single time. You become easy prey for the devil.

Satan has no power to create nor destroy, but he has his tricky ways. Now, what does he do?

He comes to question your IDENTITY.

Let me ask you all a significant question.

When satan went to tempt Jesus in the wilderness and he said ‘if you are the son of God…’, do you think satan did not already know that He was the son of God?

The truth is that he knew for there was once a time that lucifer was in heaven as the anointed cherub that covereth. So then how can you tell me he did not know that Jesus was the Son of God?

Now, this is the main takeaway from all these. Whether you know who you are in Christ or not, satan will always try to question your identity and if God forbid you to fall prey by way of ignorance, then he will have his way in such a life.

So, we revert back to the earlier instruction, explore who you are in Christ now by way of studying the Word of God.

Having an identity crisis as a believer comes with a terrible price that you are not equipped to pay.

But Christ has done it all for me brother Sammy.

Of course, He has, but have you taken the time to outline and study what He has done?

Do you know that Ephesians 1 and 2 show how that God’s Spirit raised up Christ from the dead and seated Him far above every ruler, power, authority, leader or anything in this world or the world to come?

And here is where it gets better in Ephesians 2:6, it says;

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

 [Ephesians 2:6]

So, see where you are seated. Oh, God!

So, you begin to say to yourself,

I am seated with Christ, far above any ruler of darkness, authority, power, leader or anything in this world or the world to come.

The thing is that what you don’t know, you will never access.

If someone does not know that his/her Father is the richest man because such a person was swapped at birth, then that person will have no inheritance.

You must first know before you can lay hold of what is available.

You see now that there is nothing basic or common about this topic.

When you settle down to see who the Bible says you are in Christ and believe it, hmmm.

You see, the reason why the president’s son is almost untouchable is not that he in himself is powerful, it is who his father is. Therefore, the reason why he will go anywhere confidently is because he KNOWS who his Father is.

Our Father is the MONARCH OF THE UNIVERSE.

He is the LORD OF GLORY, THE KING OF GLORY, THE CAPTAIN OF THE ANGEL ARMIES.

And He sent Christ to take your place so that you in and through Christ can be perfect before Him.

How do I know?

Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.

[Ephesians 1:4 NLT]

So, you see the Word of God, the Bible, with emphasis on the New Covenant (Testament) is rich in who we are now in Christ Jesus.

One last scripture as we round up.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

[2 Peter 1:3 KJV]

All the provisions have been made available by Abba Father, however, says, ‘through the knowledge of him (GOD) that hath called us to glory and virtue.

Knowledge, knowing who he or she is, is what makes a person sound in this Kingdom. When a person does not know, then such a person’s ignorance will be preyed upon and it will be costly to such a person.

May the Lord grant us light and understanding in this regard.

Yes, and Amen.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Father, thank You for Your Word that has gone forth as a seed. I ask Dear Father that it will begin to germinate in our hearts and grow until the transformation is clear for all to see. Help us to hear and to do what we have heard in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Let your name alone be praised throughout all the ages. Yes and Amen.
