Dear Heavenly Father, help us to open our hearts to Your word tonight and grant us the spirit of Revelation as we receive from Your word in Jesus Christ’s Name. Yes, and Amen.

Tonight, I will be speaking on something that has been in my heart lately; LIVING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Now, tonight’s teaching may seem very basic and elementary but please draw Light and Life from it.
The first thing I will say is this; nothing can be done without the Holy Spirit of God and if at all you seem to achieve anything on your own, the result will be so little and insignificant and will be done with so much struggle and stress.
You must know that God’s design for life with regards to His children (the believers) was and is meant to be easy and devoid of any difficulty.
Now let me prove it through scripture.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever.

Now, let us look at the diverse roles attributed to the Holy Spirit with regards to the above scripture:
Counsellor
Helper
Intercessor
Advocate
Strengthener
Standby
Now, this is Jesus speaking, mind you. So, my question to myself and to you reading this is why does it look like believers face so much difficulty in diverse areas of life?
There are so much more scriptures that reveal how the Holy Spirit helps the believer;
So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
[Romans 8:26 AMP]
But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

Now, all of that build-up was to just point out one thing and that will answer the question I asked earlier; Yieldedness and Obedience.
I tell you the truth except for the spirit of God leads you on this journey, you will keep missing it over and over and over again.
The best you will do is trial by error.
The amazing thing is that the Holy Spirit is interested in every area of your life.
Be it your spiritual walk with God or your finances or your relationships or your marriage etc. He is interested in giving you the best.
But oftentimes, we claim to be led by Him but it is really not the case.
Scripture says in Romans 8:14,
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

The proof of sonship is that you are led by the Spirit. He makes everything super easy.
All your struggles will end if you simply LISTEN AND OBEY HIS COMMANDS OR LEADINGS
And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
[ISAIAH 30:21 AMP]
The scope of what you know and can see on your own is limited to the present and that is already a limitation on your path, but when you walk with the Spirit of God, He prepares you in tandem with the future that He has already prepared for you. Hallelujah!!!
So, how do you achieve walking with the Spirit?
The first and most important thing to do is to seek His face on any and every issue that concerns you.
You see, when you can’t seek His face on the little issues, it will be difficult when you suddenly want to start with supposedly complex issues.
Practice makes perfect, even with the things of the Spirit.
Note that the Holy Spirit is always with you and will never leave you (Jesus said so Himself) but you have got to engage Him daily, especially on that issue that plagues you.
Dare to engage the Holy Ghost. He is there for us. In listing out His roles in John 14:16, the amplified says He is our STANDBY.
That means He is there at a moment’s notice to intervene.
Now, the Holy Spirit speaks in diverse ways.
He speaks through His Word (the BIBLE) so you must read His word till it is formed in you.
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
[Psalms 119:130 KJV]
That light comes from the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah!
He speaks through leadings or promptings. You just feel in Your spirit to do a particular thing or you know that you should do this or that.
As you dive deeper into His Word and prayer in the Spirit, His voice is no longer alien to you. You then begin to hold conversations with Him.
You see, as simple and elementary as this teaching is, herein lies the key to the victorious sojourn of the believer.
Two businessmen who are believers might want to engage in a business deal and they get a leading to hold off and one obeys while the other does not. A few days later, the business deal fails. The result is seen in the obedience.
A little secret for us all tonight, Manifestation (results) come after Obedience. It might seem silly at the point of obedience but He sees and knows what you don’t, He (the Holy Spirit) is our advantage.
Remember the story of the wedding in Cana? John 2:1-12
Mary the mother of Jesus said;
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”
[John 2:5 NIV]
And then came the command and then followed the obedience and then came the MANIFESTATION.
This is how the Godhead works with us.
Simply yield and obey the leading and instructions of the Holy Spirit and watch your life transform this 2022.

Father, thank You for Your Word that has gone forth. We ask this one thing, that You help us to yield and obey Your Holy Spirit, O Lord, as He leads us. Thank You for giving us hearts that are ever ready to do Your will. Be exalted and glorified in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name.
