Q & A on Prayer

A Question & Answer Session on Eternal Life: The Aspect of Prayer

Ministering: Princess Ojo Onogwu & Oluwatobiloba Thompson

Following one of the teachings in the Eternal Life Prayer series, a question was asked and answers were supplied by the power of the Holy Spirit. The answer took the form of a dialogue between two ministers. We trust that this will enlighten and edify you as you go through it.

Question:
I’ve always believed speaking in tongues meant praying in the spirit but from today’s teaching, it appears it’s not so.
What’s the difference between the two, please?
Because most times in church the preacher may say “Pray in the spirit for 2 minutes if you can”.

Minister Oluwatobiloba Thompson:
It is right, but according to teaching it is not limited to praying in tongues.

Do you know that only the believer can actually pray in the Spirit?  Why??  according to John 4:24 and Romans 8:9, we are in the Spirit

I’ll just use one verse:

I Corinthians 14:15 NKJV

What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

Praying in tongues is actually praying WITH your spirit…..but you can only do that because you are IN THE SPIRIT.

Praying with intelligible words (especially the word of God) i.e. your understanding is also praying in the spirit… because you are IN THE SPIRIT

But it’s advisable to pray more with your spirit man i.e tongues because as we learned today, it is more like an “activation”

There’s also something too;

The Holy Spirit can inspire words.

@PRINCESSOJO abeg epp me explain this part.

Minister Princess Ojo Onogwu:
I will take it to another dimension:

Speaking in tongues is speaking the new language that was given to us but in our senses,

So when the preacher says “Open your mouth and pray in the spirit for two minutes”

The first thing you do is start speaking in tongues from your sense (you are sometimes aware of what you are saying or praying for at this point).

But as you keep speaking you plunge deeper into the spirit and that’s when praying in the spirit erupts!

When this happens,  you sometimes do not know what you are praying for, you keep praying and do not want to stop, and you go deeper and deeper into groanings and sighs and deep sighs and sometimes silence…

It’s a nice place to be in.

Most times at this point, it is the Holy Spirit that takes you completely over!

Most times you could have interpretations of what you pray about but it gets too deep for words or English language or any earthly language at all.

Minister Oluwatobiloba Thompson:
This part ehn, you won’t even want to stop.

Minister Princess Ojo Onogwu:
I tell you!

You’ll be surprised some Christians have never prayed to this extent.

If one has never reached this extent as a Christian, I wonder if you have ever prayed at all.

Na chaff things you been just dey do 😂

Minister Oluwatobiloba Thompson:
If anybody wants to do it ehn, for maximum enjoyment… create time when nobody will ever be able to disturb you.

If you’re staying with your family… na midnight go sweet pass

If you’re single? 😂😂 You have to experience it o!

Be coming for prayer fast too.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t usually do “short-term” influence.

Minister Princess Ojo Onogwu:
This is the tip of the iceberg when one prays in the spirit…

Our prayer fast is a practical ground,  make una dey show up!

That’s when great power is made available nah.

You can turn water to wine at that point and nothing dey happen.

The boldness to do it sef will be plenty.

You become a literal God walking the earth!

Minister Oluwatobiloba Thompson:
A friend called me one day asking, where can I find a dead body😂

It’s an intoxicating feeling, na why Paul talk say, be filled with the Spirit.

Come under His influence!

Not all these 10mins in Jesus’ name we’ve prayed.

Wetin you pray in 10mins??? My friend if you don’t go back and open your mouth.

Minister Princess Ojo Onogwu:

The 10 minutes prayer works sha, but that is if you have mastered the art of always being in the spirit.

Minister Oluwatobiloba Thompson:

What happened is that, if spiritual leaders teach this….many will get better

Prayer is not something to rush in and rush out, especially if you want to build your spirit man..

We must learn how to stay and be shamelessly persistent.

Minister Princess Ojo Onogwu:

Was I or @Tobthom Able to answer your question?

The person who asked the question:

Yes, Ma. This made a lot of sense. Thank you.
I’ll also go through the other parts of the series.
