Father, we thank You for another opportunity to receive from Your Word. We ask that You grant us light from Your Word that illuminates our lives and cause us to walk in our victory as your children in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

So today we will be considering the topic: RESTING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD.
You see as believers, we have been called by God into a glorious relationship with him. Now it is important for you to know that the need for this relationship was born out of the purest form of love.
So what God did was that before bringing us (His children) into this glorious relationship through salvation by Jesus Christ, He set in place everything we will ever need to live a victorious fulfilled life.
Now all of these so-called things are what we refer to as ‘PROMISES’.
The dictionary defines promise as ‘AN OATH OR AFFIRMATION; A VOW.’
Now the important question is, how do we as believers access these promises?
Firstly, you must develop and devote time to knowing God.
You must understand the Character of God. And the scripture does justice to this on a large level.
God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?
[Numbers 23:19 AMP]
That right there is gold.
The Bible will give you great insight into the person of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Because as you study the Word, it shapes your mind and gives light about God.
Let’s look at one more scripture;
Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
[Hebrews 10:23 NLT]
You see, when you read scriptures like this, what happens on the inside is that your faith in God begins to be strengthened. You begin to trust God more.
Remember scriptures says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
You see, it is possible to know all the promises of God and still have unbelief in your heart.
But when you know God on an intimate level through spending time in fellowship with Him and in His Word, you are sure without a measure of doubt that God is too Faithful to not perform His Word.
Number 23:19 becomes real to you.
His promises are there for us to enjoy o. He is not a wicked father.
However, your faith in Him must be sure. You must believe that this promise is mine and God will bring it to pass in my life.
There is and should be no complexity in this Kingdom.
If you see a promise in the scripture that speaks to a particular issue in your life, hold on to it in faith.
You see FAITH is the currency of the immortals. You receive by faith. That is why the scriptures tell us that ‘the just shall live by faith.
For instance, 2 Corinthians 8:9 says:
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
[2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV]
Now, how do you work with such a promise?
Hold on to it by Faith, you begin to speak it forth into existence. You must see it as your reality because it is.
You should even give God thanks for wealth.
Now at first, it might not line up, but remember that the same scriptures tell us that we walk by faith and not by sight.
But as you keep believing it and speaking (confessing) it, what happens is that your reality begins to be subjected to what you confess and then you begin to see the manifestation in your life.
You must also see yourself where you want to be first in your mind, in line with the Word of course. So, you see even your imagination comes into play.
Imagine you are already wealthy or healed or blessed with a virtuous woman or God-fearing man or carrying your baby etc. And with faith focus on that thing, you imagine in prayer and even in your mind as you go about your daily routine. It will only be a matter of time before the rest of you catches up with you.
Remember Ephesians 3:20;
Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]
[Ephesians 3:20 AMP]
It says far above what you can ask or THINK – that speaks of your thought and imagination. So, use your imagination to your advantage dear brethren instead of worrying all the time😁
You see, the secret to all of these is in one word 😄 “RESTING”
When you are at rest it shows that you trust God completely to do what He says notwithstanding how things may look.
Jesus said;
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
[Matt 6:27 KJV]
In other words, why are you worrying over what you cannot and are not supposed to handle?
That’s His job😁
So, one kingdom principle He gave was this;
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
[ Mathew 6:33 KJV]
When you follow God with all your heart, all of the things you supposedly worry about will come to you in the place of REST.
So, one last scripture I will leave you with;
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, 7 then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT)
When you are worried about a thing, you are pulled in different directions and the result is that your attention and focus is completely taken away from the One who can help you. Hmmmm😁
So, what you should do is that like the scripture say, go into payers with the confident assurance that God will answer you. The proof that you trust He will answer is in your thanksgiving before you receive the promise🙌
Then after this process, verse 7 kicks in and a peace that you can’t explain because it is not of this world takes over you and in the midst of trials and temptations, you are not moved one bit. People will think you are mad 😂 but what has really happened is that through Faith-filled prayer, you have received what you were asking for in the spirit and when a thing is settled in the spirit, the manifestation is seen in the physical. SELAH!
You can trust Him, PERSONAL FELLOWSHIP, He keeps His word.
Then said the Lord to me, you have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.
[JEREMIAH 1:12 AMP]
Jesus still works wonders.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
[HEBREWS 13:8 KJV]
Please note that when God says a thing in His Word or to you personally, HE HAS DONE IT ALREADY. He is OMNIPOTENT. Time is too little for God to operate in it, He created it. Eternity is found in God.
May God give us all the Grace to REST in His PROMISES.
