Tonight, we would focus on how to UNLOCK THE POWER OF THE MIND.
It is God’s will that men take charge of their minds so that they can consciously demonstrate the dominion that He has given to us.
One thing about God is that for everything He has given to man, there is always an instruction following. God has never left man without instruction. For that very reason, He has also given guidelines on how we can take charge of our minds.
Take a look at this:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
[Joshua 1:8 NKJV]
In this very verse: God mentioned 3 things that are instrumental in harnessing and taking control of the mind:
1) Faith
2) Meditation
3) Understanding
Faith, because it is a major tool in interacting with the supernatural;
Meditation because it helps give focus to the mind;
Understanding, because the mind works better when it has gotten clarity of a thing.
Now, what then is faith? Paul defines faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen [to the physical eyes]. Hebrews 11:1 NKJV. (paraphrased).
Faith is not a blind spirit, it is a seeing spirit. I’ll show you:
In Genesis 15, the Lord brought Abraham outside his tent and told him to LOOK [see with physical eyes] and SEE [with his mind] if he could number the stars. God’s ultimate intention was for Abraham to look past his physical eyes and SEE with his mind. Immediately Abraham SAW with his mind, faith was birthed in his spirit and it was recorded,
“And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” [Genesis 15:6 NKJV]
Now that faith has been birthed, how do you go on to manifest in the physical what your mind has seen by faith?
This is where meditation comes in.
In Joshua 1:8 we can deduce that accurate meditation in the eyes of God is to continually speak what faith has seen.
Paul, quoting from the Psalms said,
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak [II Corinthians 4:13 NKJV]
It is therefore evident that whatever faith sees in the mind, it manifests in the physical by SPEAKING!
The mind will only birth the reality that the MOUTH CONTINUALLY SPEAKS, so don’t ever stop declaring and confessing the word of God upon your life because BY WORDS WE BUILD OUR REALITY.
Finally, as a result of continuous or repetitive speaking, the mind is now able to gain understanding or clarity. Let’s see what Jesus has to say about this:
“The lamp of the body is the eye [mind]. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light [understanding]. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
[Luke 11:34 NKJV]
So now, we see that when the mind understands accurately the knowledge of the word of God, light is birthed. To walk in the light is to have great understanding!
