Let us pray 🙏

Sweet Holy Spirit, thank You for the privilege we have to come and learn at Your feet. As we share from Your Word dear Lord, our hearts are open to receive from You tonight in Jesus name… Amen.

“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

[Joel 2:28 NKJV]

“The glory of this latter House will be greater than the former,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot. “In this place, I will grant shalom”—it is a declaration of Adonai-Tzva’ot.

[Haggai 2:9 TLV]

It is evident that the last days are upon us… We are in an era where we get to experience the unprecedented move of the Holy Spirit.

In the book of Acts, we read about the wonderful and mind-blowing miracles by the Apostles…

The last days as mentioned in the book of Joel 2 began with Peter preaching and over 3000 people were added to the Church.

In another event, he preached alongside John and about 5000 people gave their lives to Christ

We read of stories from scriptures where people got healed by just coming in contact with the shadow of Peter…

And what about Apostle Paul…

God kept releasing a flow of extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul. Because of this, people took Paul’s handkerchiefs and articles of clothing, even pieces of cloth that had touched his skin, laying them on the bodies of the sick, and diseases and demons left them and they were healed. Acts 19:11 – 12 TPT

“God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles”.

So, if the beginning of the last days recorded such wonderful miracles, it means we should be experiencing more… Because we are at the ending part of the “last days”… And according to Haggai, the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former…

The Church today is far more enlightened, positioned and equipped to do more in our current dispensation…

But there is a limitation.

We have not allowed the Holy Spirit to have full expression in us.

Let us now look at some of these expressions in detail:

1. The Words that we speak.

Proverbs 15:4 says a wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perseverance therein is a breach in the Spirit. I love the way TPT puts it;

When you speak healing words, you offer others fruit from the tree of life. But unhealthy, negative words do nothing but crush their hopes.

[Proverbs 15:4 TPT]

The Words that we speak are so powerful. In fact, the most powerful force in the universe is the force of words.

How do you use this powerful weapon that God has blessed you with?

Let us not be too quick to speak negative words at the slightest provocation or irritation.

The Words that we speak are spirit and life. Our words should give hope and not condemnation.

Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences.

[Proverbs 18:21 TPT]

We are the product of words… Therefore, it is important that we speak spirit inspired words rather than words that destroy.

2. Making melodies in our hearts.

And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled continually with the Holy Spirit. And your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord. Keep speaking to each other with words of Scripture, singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit!

[Ephesians 5:18 – 19 TPT]

Singing and making melodies is one of the ways to continually stay filled with the Holy Spirit. It is also a very powerful spiritual weapon, especially when faced with challenging situations…(Read Acts 16:25-26)

When we sing and make melodies to the Lord, we can stir up our faith and suddenly we notice that we are not perturbed by issues that tend to occupy our minds.

3. Joy and Laughter.

Another expression of the Holy Spirit in us is joy and laughter.

Having received the Holy Spirit, God expects us to draw joy and excitement from within.

Always learn to release joy and excitement from within… Never allow anything to take away your joy.

Where there is Joy, it is difficult for the devil to penetrate!

In the midst of trouble and challenging situations, release joy from within.

James 1:2 says, “count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptation.

Stir up your joy from within…

A  joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.

[Proverbs 17:22 TPT]

When was the last time you had a very good laugh 😂😂😂

I mean like really laughed?

There are people who haven’t laughed in a long time… In fact, they’ve almost forgotten how to laugh!

There are certain diseases such as cancer that draws their life from depression, bitterness or sadness… But laughter which is one of the easiest expressions of joy has the power to cure these.

Laughter is a healer!

Sometimes when life seems to get tough, learn to pull back and laugh.

Let the joy of the Lord spring up from within your heart in spite of challenging situations… Laugh your way to victory!

May the Lord help us in Jesus name… Amen

Thank you, Holy Spirit for all we have learnt today… Help us, that our lives will have a full expression of your presence in us… In Jesus name, Amen.
