The Story of Man

By Brother Sammy

20th June 2022

Good evening my people of God. It is time for us to receive God’s Word.

Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, we bless You and we exult You, Lord. Thank You for another opportunity to receive from Your Word. Grant us understanding tonight in Jesus Christ’s mighty Name. Yes, and Amen.

Like I earlier said, tonight we shall be considering the topic; THE STORY OF MAN.

Man, from creation, was created by God to be dependent and not independent.

Bro Sammy, what do you mean?

And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

[Genesis 1:26-27 KJV]

You see, by the design of the Father, man was not designed to function and operate outside of Him.  So, for you to find the real you, you must journey into God because you were made after His likeness.

So, you see, you were not created to be independent of God, but to be dependent on Him. To be independent of God is death.

But you see man in his fallen state apart from God is a story of man.

Apostle Paul gave us an insight into this and proffered a solution.

Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

[ROMANS 8:26 KJV]

You see, man is man😁 and the best of a man is still a man.

I have said it in one of my teachings that ‘there is no strong man, there are only men who have been helped by God’.

Man is born with infirmities and that is why you see believers say things like I had a past, or, I was in the world, or, if not for God.

Man, on his own is weak. The strength of man is weakness before God.

Each and every one of us is suffering or has suffered one infirmity or the other, but “likewise the Spirit helpeth our infirmities”.

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

[ISAIAH 40:28-31 KJV]

Verse 30 says; Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.

Man is weak and the only way we ascend is on the strength of the Spirit.

Don’t find it strange when you see an infirmity in your life, that is the story of man, it shows that you are a man. But remember that “likewise the Spirit helpeth our infirmities”.

Remember Apostle Peter.

He was so zealous that he claimed to love God but denied Jesus three times.

Now one would ask, did he not really love Jesus? Oh yes! he did! But he was relying on his strength (but by the arm of flesh shall no man prevail).

So, fast forward to the version of Apostle Peter when the Holy Spirit had filled him up and swallowed his infirmity. Even when he was threatened to stop preaching Jesus, see his response to men who could have killed him:

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

[ACTS 4:19 KJV]

This is the same man that denied Jesus for fear of what they would have done to him.

So, when you see an infirmity of whatever kind or magnitude in your life don’t fear or deny it (for that would be foolish). Just go to the Holy Spirit and say these words: HOLY SPIRIT, PLEASE HELP MY INFIRMITIES.

You see, even Jesus knew that, man on his own is totally helpless and that is why He said in the book of John:

And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;

[John 14:16 KJV]

Man was not created by God to be independent. Know this and Know peace.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

[JOHN 15:5 KJV]

Jesus said, Apart from me, ye can do nothing.

Isaiah the prophet said; Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.

Sir/Ma your human strength will fail you time and time again but, likewise the spirit of God helpeth our infirmities.

Let us look at it in The Passion Translation.

And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.

[ROMANS 8:26 TPT]

God knows that man is frail so His Spirit takes hold of us and empowers us. He swallows our infirmities.

Until you realise and accept the fact that you’re a man and that you are weak, you won’t see the need to cry to the Holy Spirit to help your infirmities. The strength of God must come and meet weakness and a heart that is completely broken and sees the need for the strength of God to take over.

Again, know this and know peace.

Thank you, Dear God, for Your Word.

Dear Holy Spirit, I ask that you help our infirmities and cause us to be strong in the might of the Lord. May your name be praised throughout all the ages.

Yes, and Amen.
