Let us pray.
Father, tonight we ask for another measure of Your revelational knowledge that will grant us illumination in Jesus’ name. Yes, and Amen.

Tonight, we are still on our series, THE WORD Part three.
So, a look at our anchor scripture. Matt 4:1-11.
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Please note this;
It takes a deliberate effort with the help of the Spirit of God to live your life by the Word of God.
So, you must decide to live your life each day by the Word of God.
How does this happen?
Well when you are faced with any issue, you go to scripture and look at what God has said and has to say about it.
Now, that is just by the way😁
Tonight, very briefly I will be teaching on, Staying in the Word.
This is where most of us sometimes find difficulty and we’ll see why.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
[Joshua 1:8 KJV]
To stay in the Word is to persist in the Word.
And to persist takes patience, which, if you’re honest is not always easy.
There is a reason why the instruction to Joshua was to meditate.
There is a huge difference between READING AND MEDITATING.
Just knowing this has solved half your problem😊
Meditating on God’s Word is what brings the Spirit of wisdom.
Have you noticed that there are times when you’re reading the Word and there is a leading to stay on a particular verse of a chapter or a whole chapter?
When you perceive such a leading, please by all means stay on it, keep reading it over and over and then ponder over it in your heart.
As you ponder over the Word, ask the Holy Spirit to grant you illumination.
Now, note that it may take some time, but that is where persisting comes into play.
Many believers pride themselves on how many chapters they can cover in a day or how many times they may have read the bible, but the thing is, you don’t read the bible for show, you study to get and operate by the wisdom of God.
Hmmm, the Word is really powerful o, it transforms, but it is the spirit of the Word that carries out that function, not the law which killeth.
So, if you carry only the logos of the Word without the spirit, you are a CRS teacher😂
(Just a joke o)
But the truth is, the Word only comes alive when the Holy Spirit grants you deep insight. That insight is revelation knowledge.
So, that is part of your labour into rest; WAITING.
If you can wait for Him, if you can persist, He will show up o.
So, the difference between a believer who has insight by the Spirit on ‘Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want’, and another believer who knows this whole Psalm but no revelation is in one word, “RESULTS”.
If you remember in part two of this series, I said, the Word of God is a seed sown that can yield 30, 60, 100 and several more folds.
So, don’t just read the Bible because you feel a sense of guilt or because you just have to.
Read because it is in the Word that wisdom comes on how to live above the systems of the world.
See eh, it will only take the Holy Spirit one verse to turn your entire life around.
There are people who say things like, ‘the Holy Spirit gave me this scripture’ and they know this because they have the revelation of said scripture and it is working for them.
Of course, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and the wisdom with which He operates is the wisdom that created the world and it is the wisdom that was before time began.
That is why scripture says in Psalm 119:130 KJV,
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
[Psalm 119:130 KJV]
When you have the light from the Word, kai you will be a sign and a wonder.
That is why I said earlier, that your labour is to wait on the Holy Spirit for LIGHT. When He unlocks a scripture to you, then you will understand what Jesus meant when He said ‘…the words that I speak to you are spirit and life…’
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
[John 6:63 KJV]
The Word of God (Bible) is not a storybook of fiction, it is SPIRIT AND LIFE. It carries the backing of Yahweh so you know that when you get a Word from God through scriptures, you don’t need to wait for manifestation to start celebrating, you can start immediately after that Word comes.
God’s Word is His bond. He is a God who keeps His covenants.
So, whether it takes 430 years for his promise to materialise, it must happen, why? Because God said so.
So, I feel led to say this by the Spirit of God;
You may have had a Word from God in the past whether by prophecy or God spoke to you through His Word and you were so sure and certain that it was God that you wrote it in your journal but, over time you got discouraged. Well, the instruction by the Spirit of God is to open that journal read those words and jubilate (by dancing) over those words.
Lastly, it is important for us to wait on the Holy Spirit while studying the Word because He speaks through His Word.
If you want to know His voice and leadings, study more of His Word.
In Romans 10:17;
So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
[Romans 10:17 KJV]
Now understand that it says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
This means that the Word of God is a channel by which He speaks. His Word is a conduit.
So, by the written Word, you can get the spoken Word of God.
Even now while I am teaching, the Holy Spirit is using what He is leading me to type, to teach what He wants you to know.
The Holy Spirit has a powerful teaching ministry, He is not limited by your level of retention or your capacity to retain, once He reveals a thing to you, you immediately understand as though you were born with that knowledge
Jesus said that He will lead us into ALL TRUTHS OHH! (John 16:13) we have a lot to explore with this wonderful Holy Spirit.
So, whether you are conversant with this experience or habit of staying in the Word or not. Just ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten the eyes of your understanding and wait on Him while you study.
Remember, the key is to WAIT PATIENTLY. You cannot rush the Holy Spirit, while He is gentle, He is also a King Spirit.
He loves you and is eager to grant you light through His Word.

Father, thank You for this great feast of LIGHT.
I ask that beyond what has been said tonight You will grant us Your children more insight and revelation knowledge through Your Word and grant us the grace to wait on You always as we study Your Word. To You be all glory and honour, may Your name be praised throughout all the ages. Yes, and Amen.
